[ there's really no point in sending a follow up message, nick is already makign his way through the bathroom as he's hitting send, and he's pretty sure he hears the buzz of the received message as he crosses through into marco's half of the suite. he makes a cursory gesture of greeting, apired with a typically bright smile to see him, but the objective here is clear: he's coming in for a hug, and he's coming in now. ]
[ marco, who is very comfily (and stressfully) lying on his bed, throws his arms wide open for nick to fall into. he's got jammies on, his toesies out, and dita's shuffling around under the bed looking for something to attack. all in all, it's not a bad setup. have at it, babe. ]
[ this is unfortunately exactly why he can't feel too bad about being here at all. how long has it been since he lived close enough to marco that he could just nudge open a door and flop into his bed? years, not since nick made the decision to dip out of BCR early. he's not going to dwell again though, it's already got him too moody.
instead he just drops straight down into marco's arms, quick to wind his own around him in turn and squeeze him into a tight hug. his face quickly finds a nook at the crook of marco's neck and shoulders, and he huffs out a hot breath once he's settled. ]
I'll sort the pact thing out, okay? Stop spiralling.
[ nick as a boy is not all that different from nic as a girl, turns out. all the soft parts are the same, more or less, and the scent of his magic is the same, and even the way nick's curls ends up tickling his nostrils — it's all the same. it's the same best friend in all the ways that matter.

[ oh, marco, you couldn't have just left it at 'be careful'. nick winces then, audibly, and tucks his face in a little tighter as if it might somehow soften the blow of his response--or at least prevent him from seeing marco's reaction. ]
[ marco isn't going to make a bigger deal of it than he's already had, and he's done that a lot recently — still, he can't help feeling some disappointment. satan, of all people. the big bad? that's where we're going? ]

[ it's not his greatest moment in the world if nick's honest, but then he's having a hard time connecting the guy that he met at that stupid faire with The Devil Incarnate Himself. a devil, maybe, some multiversal situation way above nick's head. either way, he's trying to avoid getting into it too much, so he squeezes into the hug tighter, pressing a kiss onto marco's shoulder like it'll smooth all that over. ]
